Holiday Concerts

We have had 2 holiday concerts.  Ryan's 3rd grade class put on a great 50's style concert, filled with singing and dancing. Ok so he doesn't look so thrilled but it was so cute!

Justin plays the trumpet in 6th grade.  My dad would be so proud.  The 6th grade band put on a concert for all the parents.  They sounded great!  Justin even said "I was surprised at how good we sounded!"
Not too much of a ham!!

Decorating....

Last weekend we went out and picked the perfect tree, tied it to the car and were on our way.  Nick and Don seem to be getting better each year with this.
For me now the fun begins with decorating the tree and house...Christmas music, hot chocolate (even though it has been in the 60's and 70's here!).

Ok so it is a little lopsided but it looks pretty!

Snow in Dixie?!

This weekend proved to be so much fun and Justin and Ryan got to see snow?  Well not really but it was still fun, it was a snow machine with bubbles coming out. Saturday morning we went to Sun City to watch the golf cart parade, retired people really know how to live!  Santa was in the last golf cart.  Ryan and Grandma Bailey went to have lunch with Santa.  Justin and I enjoyed a walk on this beautiful spring, I mean fall day. The weather here has been in the high 60s and yesterday it was 74 degrees, you wont hear me complain!!

Then we made a dash to the Sandy Ridge Elementary School WinterFest. This includes games, cotton candy, bounce houses, gingerbread houses, silent auction, cake walk...it is always the big event each year.  We didn't win the cake walk but had fun trying.  They both had fun hanging out with their friends.
Then off to church, dropped off our Angel Tree gift, thanked God for all we have and each other. And finally dinner with all my boys, Don, Nick, Justin and Ryan.  We settled at home to watch Elf.

Butterfly Kicks

Ryan is still going strong with his karate.  He is now working toward his 2nd degree black belt, which will take about 2 years to complete.  He loves different kicks and was showing me a new kick called the Butterfly kick....very cool....

Thanks Giving

Thanksgiving has come and gone.  The turkey, the pumpkin dessert and the making of the Christmas card.  We celebrated our Thanksgiving on Wednesday. Ham, mashed potatoes, asparagus and my pumpkin cheesecake.  Which I didn't give enough time to set but it was still tasty.  Mom and Terry joined us.  We took our family picture for the Christmas card.  After setting up the ladder to prop the camera on we started snapping pictures.

Justin and Ryan left to go to spend the holiday with their dad on Thursday morning.  Don, Nick and I headed over to Craig and Rebecca's to spend the afternoon eating turkey and watching football.  Mom and Terry joined us and Craig and Rebecca were gracious enough to allow meat in their home, we were thankful to eat turkey and not tofurkey! Unfortunately for Don Dallas didn't win but it was a heck of a game and we stayed until the bitter end.

Blogging

I have been talking about starting a blog for years.  I love the idea of documenting and tracking our lives together.  Well here I am finally starting it, today November 19, 2012.  I'm not sure I am much of a blogger but here it goes....I have been a Technical Writer for a software company for over ten years.  Now that is different than creatively writing.  I got my real estate license in NC this past year and am currently working on starting my own real estate business with a partner, Elise. I love my real estate job!  I have been married to Don for 2 years and we have 3 boys.  Nick 17 years, Justin 11 years and Ryan 9 years.
