So much to do, No time to blog.....

We have been so busy...cruise, basketball, prom, karate tournament, novel published.....I have had no time to blog.  I have closed 2 houses this month and have 1 more closing at the end of the month.  Life has been great but just really busy.....Stay tuned...more to come
Cocoa Beach, FL before our cruise!

The Living Musuem - Daniel Boone

My little guy had to research a person who was dead, who contributed to society.  He then had to make note cards and put them on a poster board and write a speech to present at the 3rd grade Living Museum dressed as the person.  Ryan choose Daniel Boone.  He chose him because his grand-mom got him a cool raccoon hat last year while in the Boone, NC.

Parents would go from station to station and each child had a round sticker on their hand which acted like a button.  When you pushed the button the child would recite their speech.  It was so great to see all the kids dressed up.  They put so much time and effort into this project.
Everyone did such a great job on their speeches and boards.  Below are some of Ryan's friends: Steve Jobs (Owen), Teddy Roosevelt (Frankie), Babe Ruth (Curtis) and John Adams (Alex).

Bon Jovi

Don and I went to see Bon Jovi, it was my Christmas present from Don.  It was so nice to go out just the 2 of us for dinner and then the concert.  It was pouring rain when we got to the stadium and we had the pleasure of listening to a young boy, maybe 8-9 years old with a bullhorn telling us why deserved to go to HELL.  He was accompanied by 2 adults in rain jackets holding signs. It was so garbled that I didn't find out why going to the Bon Jovi concert would send me to hell?!
We got to our seats and I think we were in the baby boomer section.  We were the youngest ones in our section. Music was good, couldn't really see but it is about the music right?!

Sock Hop

Ryan's school had a Sock Hop this past weekend.  The gym was completely decked out including a disco ball and DJ.  They had hola hoops, a volleyball net, root beer floats, cupcakes bounce houses, limbo. Ryan and his friends were dancing to 50's music and the latest and greatest pop songs.
He even got into the swing of things when he and the student council broke out into a flash mob dance! Ryan has loved being on the 3rd student council!

Uncle Drew

Got a call from the bro that he would be in town for business last week. That is the great thing about living in Charlotte, NC, it is hub for banking and a lay overs for many.
The boys love him, pizza and good times.  Ryan got to show him his black belt and Justin got to show him his basketball team picture.

Winter Wonderland

We had the most beautiful snow.  Our 300 + year old tree was just incredible.  I have decided that I am going to take a picture of it in each season.  It is the center piece of our neighborhood.
We didn't have the boys with us, but Don and I enjoyed the snow.

Our back yard was a winter wonderland of snow and then next day our house looked completely amazing with the snow and sun!

Snowing Tubing 2013

We went to the NC mountains in search of snow. We packed the boys in the car and headed to Blowing Rock NC.  We didn't find much snow, just small patches but enough to have a snowball fight at the mountain house.

We decided to head to downtown Blowing Rock for some dinner.  And had so much fun playing in the park.  We even got a rare family picture of all 5 of us.

We went on the swings, I haven't been on a swing in I don't know how long?!  Everyone jumped off the swing as it was moving except me and Nick.  The older I get the more I don't like thrills like I use to.

UNO rounded out the night. Nick was our winner.  He has come a long way when it comes to playing games.  He typically would come in last but he seems to have hit his stride when it comes to games, coming in first or second.  We always have good laughs.
Sunday it was off to HawksNest for some tubing.

We have one more trip planned before Nick heads into the Army this summer after high school graduation.  We are gonna miss him!!  Spring Break here we come.

Sickness has hit our house!

Sickness hit our household!  My poor sweet Justin had a fever for 6 days!  He was out of school for 5 days, Ryan only got a touch of it and was out of school one day.

They are both on the mend and feeling back and back to school  It took Justin 2 days to make it to a full day back at school but Monday was his first full day back.  Kids bounce back quickly! I'm ready for Spring!

Moving Toward 2nd Degree Black Belt

Ryan added another strip to his 1st degree black belt.  Nice ceremony, they even had the instructors breaking cement boards.  That is just crazy?!! It was so cool! So proud of this little guy!  He has put so much hard work and effort into it.

A day with the Aunt and Uncle

Last weekend I dropped Justin and Ryan off for a fun-filled lunch and afternoon with Uncle Craig and Aunt Becca! Not only did Ryan try roasted red peppers on his grilled pizza (and he liked it!), Justin said no way BUT they got to fly down the hardwood floor hallway in there socks and race!  Serious fun!

The aunt and uncle are always fun! Can you tell for the picture below?!
